The new Congressional budget signed into law yesterday, includes $5 million for the CDC to expand its sepsis programs—a $2 million increase over last year’s funding.
Just three years ago, sepsis had never received line-item funding in any federal budget. Since 2022, we have worked relentlessly to change that, successfully advocating for year-over-year increases that culminated in this week’s historic victory.
To our allies and supporters who made this possible – by sharing your sepsis stories with lawmakers, lending your voices, and financially supporting this work – thank you. This progress belongs to you. And if you have not yet joined the fight, now is the time. Together, we can continue to build on this momentum and ensure sepsis receives the attention, resources, and urgency it demands.
Here’s how you can help:
1. Send a letter to your Congressional representatives urging them to support the SEPSIS ACT
2. Donate to support our lifesaving work
3. Become a sepsis advocate. We need you on the front lines.
Sign up and we’ll be in touch to share how you can have a BIG impact in your state
With gratitude and determination,
Team END SEPSIS
